HARRISBURG – Rep. Dan Moul (R-Adams), who has served on the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee for several years, placed second in the annual Celebrity Draft Horse Driving Competition at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex on Tuesday.

Moul has participated in this contest in the Farm Show Complex equine arena every year since 2012, having won it twice and placing in the top three in all but his first attempt. To win, one must lead a team of horses through an obstacle course in the least amount of time. Moul’s team was sponsored by Hanover Shoe Farms, North America’s leading standardbred horse breeding farm, located in Hanover.

“This is a fun and worthwhile competition with other members of the General Assembly and the news media,” said Moul. “The best part is that the event benefits the Farm Show Scholarship Foundation, which provides college scholarships to students studying agriculture and helps to strengthen the future of agriculture in Pennsylvania.”

Since the Farm Show Scholarship Foundation was established in 1993, it has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to nearly 400 members of FFA and 4-H who have demonstrated a commitment to Pennsylvania agriculture.

The Farm Show runs through Saturday, Jan. 14, at 5 p.m. For more information, visit farmshow.state.pa.us/page/show.aspx
