HARRISBURG – Reps. Dan Moul (R-Adams) and Kate Klunk (R-York) joined the Adams-Hanover Allied Veterans Council in Hanover this morning for an annual event that sends U.S. military veterans to Washington, D.C.
Nearly 40 veterans gathered at the Elks Club of Hanover for the one-day, all-expenses-paid bus trip to visit the various war monuments in the nation’s capital. The trip is funded through private donations.
“The monuments serve to educate the public about our nation’s history and the brave Americans who fought and died for freedom and liberty all around the world,” said Moul. “It’s exciting to know these men and women, who served in our nation’s military, will have the opportunity to see these grand symbols of American endurance up close and know their contribution is appreciated.”
“Thank you to the organizations that contributed to this event to honor and show appreciation to our veterans. This is just a small token of our community’s gratitude for all our veterans have given and sacrificed, so we may live in a free America,” Klunk said.
Many of the veterans pictured here served during the Vietnam era.
Moul and Klunk have been a part of this annual send-off for at least the past five years.
