Deadline Nearing to Enroll in Food Assistance Program, Moul Says

Rep. Dan Moul (R-Adams/Franklin) is reminding older adults who qualify for the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) that they have until June 30 to enroll in the program.

“This program aims to prevent hunger in the Commonwealth by serving those truly in need,” said Moul.  “I urge all who qualify to take advantage of this opportunity to enroll.”

The CSFP provides canned foods, non-fat dry and evaporated milk, juice, pasta, oats, peanut butter and poultry to eligible older adults and others who qualify, but are not already being served by the Women Infants and Children (WIC) program.

To be eligible, a person must be at least 60 years of age and have an average monthly income that does not exceed $1,179 for one person.  The monthly income guidelines are increased by $405 for each additional person in the household.

For information on how to enroll, contact the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank at (717) 564-1700 or Moul’s district office at (717) 334-3010.
